Invocations raise raid difficulty and change the path from a forgiving learning run into an efficiency or challenge run. Add one mechanic at a time and record why a wipe happened before adding another.

Invocation categories

  • Path invocations: increase a path’s pressure, speed or damage.
  • Boss invocations: alter an individual Warden or path boss mechanic.
  • Supply/damage invocations: reduce safety margins or increase incoming damage.
  • Challenge invocations: add timing, movement or resource constraints.

The live lobby is the authority for the exact points and enabled invocation names. The source confirms entry, normal and expert tracking and reward-room handling, but runtime balancing can change the reward multiplier.

Complete invocation registry

The game data registry contains the following 45 invocations. Their exact level modifiers are loaded from the production cache structures, so the live lobby value is authoritative.

Run rules Time and supplies Paths/global pressure Boss mechanics
Try Again; Persistence; Softcore Run; Hardcore Run Walk for It; Jog for It; Run for It; Sprint for It; Need Some Help; Need Less Help; No Help Needed; On a Diet; Dehydration; Overly Draining Walk the Path; Pathseeker; Pathfinder; Pathmaster; Quiet Prayers; Deadly Prayers Lively Larvae; More Overlords; Blowing Mud; Medic; Aerial Assault; Not Just a Head; Arterial Spray; Blood Thinners; Upset Stomach; Double Trouble; Keep Back; Stay Vigilant; Feeling Special; Mind the Gap; Gotta Have Faith; Jungle Japes; Shaking Things Up; Boulderdash; Ancient Haste; Acceleration; Penetration; Overclocked; Overclocked 2; Insanity

Player progression

Start with no or low invocations, learn Apmeken, Crondis, Het and Scabaras, then add one change at a time. Keep a note of the invocation that caused a failed run. This produces better progression than copying an expert setup before the base mechanics are consistent.

Age of Embers raid scaling

The supplied implementation scales ToA NPCs rather than giving one fixed stat line for every raid:

  • Raid factor is 1 + ((raid level / 5) × 0.02).
  • Defence and accuracy scale with the raid factor.
  • Damage scales with raid factor plus path/boss level and is capped at a 2.5× multiplier.
  • Team-size health factor is 1 + ((starting team size - 1) × 0.9).
  • Boss/path levels add 8% for level 1, then another 5% for each additional level.
  • Displayed combat level is recalculated from the scaled health factor.

This is why a single fixed HP/defence number would mislead players. Choose the raid level and party size in the lobby, then treat the resulting live encounter as the authoritative stat profile.

Rewards

The reward chest rolls the current raid table after completion. Use Drop Viewer for the live unique table and the reward interface for the current eligibility, quantity and raid level. Do not treat a higher invocation score as a guaranteed unique.

Source-defined level 500 / 32,000-point reference

The active alternate table exposes the following reference rates for a level 500 raid ending with 32,000 points. These are fractions from the viewer entry, not promises for every raid level.

Reward Source fraction Approximate chance Notes
Osmumten's fang 29/250 11.6% Level 500, 32,000-point reference
