Shops are a progression tool, not just a list of prices. Before buying, check the currency, stock limit, account-mode restriction and whether the same item can be earned more efficiently from a boss or minigame.
Understanding a shop screen
1. Category: melee, ranged, magic, supplies, skilling, cosmetics or activity rewards. 2. Currency: coins, points, tokens, Blood Money, Burn Points or an activity-specific currency. 3. Buy price: the amount removed when you purchase. 4. Sell price: the amount returned when selling is enabled; it may differ from the buy price. 5. Stock: a finite stock may restock over time; do not assume every shop is unlimited.
Player shopping workflow
- Compare the item with Drop Viewer before spending a rare currency.
- Buy supplies for the next activity first; save cosmetic or convenience purchases for later.
- Check the item examine and equipment requirements before buying multiples.
- Keep one copy of a unique item for the Collection log before selling or sacrificing duplicates.
Shop directory
Shop and exchange directory links each enabled shop and its source-defined stock, currency, buy price and sell price. Entries are grouped by the actual shop definition rather than by a generic OSRS category.
Exchanges and account currencies
- Burn Points are earned by sacrificing eligible items and buy permanent boons or forge rewards.
- Minigame points should normally be spent in that minigame’s reward shop; they are not automatically interchangeable.
- Universal shop is a front end. The bound catalogue determines the final price and currency.
