StatusSource-backed player guide

This handbook helps a player choose a first boss, prepare a trip and recognise the mechanic that caused a death. Exact HP, defence and drop values can vary by variant, difficulty, raid level or live cache; use the encounter’s live examine/Drop Viewer data for the final number.

Choosing a boss

Player goal Start with Why
Learn protection switching God Wars Dungeon or a lower-pressure Slayer boss Clear attack patterns and repeatable routes
Learn movement The Gauntlet Supplies and gear are built inside the instance
Learn multi-phase solo combat Desert Treasure II bosses Distinct mechanics and source-defined uniques
Learn group calls Nex and Raid room guide Positioning, target calls and death recovery matter
Chase a cosmetic/unique collection Complete boss and NPC directory Use Collection Log and Drop Viewer to track missing items

God Wars and traditional bosses

General Graardor

Use melee protection for the main attack and keep movement space for the minion pressure. Decide whether the team is tanking or rotating before the kill; inconsistent target swaps create more damage than a lower DPS weapon.

Kree'arra

Ranged protection and disciplined movement are more important than standing still for maximum hits. Keep the room’s corners and minions in your plan; do not enter with inventory space already consumed by unnecessary switches.

Commander Zilyana

Run the room rather than trading avoidable hits. A player learning the route should prioritise prayer uptime and a clean escape loop over a risky burst window.

K'ril Tsutsaroth

Treat the main attack and minion pressure as separate problems. Protect correctly, avoid standing under the boss without a reason and bank before experimenting with a new setup.

Slayer and solo bosses

Vorkath

Prepare an anti-dragon/anti-venom plan, a freeze or crumble response for special summons and an escape route. The Drop Viewer should be checked for the exact server variant before committing to a long trip.

Zulrah

Learn the phase order and prayer/style swap rhythm. Keep the camera and arena tiles visible; most early deaths come from moving late while changing gear.

Cerberus

Protect the current style, respect the ghost sequence and leave enough room for the final movement. A Slayer task can change the trip’s value, so check the Task Book first.

Alchemical Hydra

Treat each phase as its own checklist: attack style, floor hazard and movement lane. Do not let a successful damage phase make you ignore the next colour/position change.

Araxxor

Use the path and web/arena hazards as part of the fight rather than background decoration. Keep an escape tile open and verify the server’s current variant in the Drop Viewer.

Desert Treasure II bosses

  • Vardorvis — axe timing, prayer reaction and accelerating pressure.
  • Duke Sucellus — preparation, gaze timing and repeatable attack rhythm.
  • The Leviathan — fast protection-prayer changes, stuns and movement-heavy enrage.
  • The Whisperer — sanity/shadow-realm pressure, prayer switching and movement.

Read the dedicated pages before attempting awakened mode. Awakened entry resources are not learning supplies; establish consistent normal clears first.

Gauntlet and Colosseum

The Gauntlet is a self-contained preparation challenge. Search the rooms for resources, build food/potions, collect a weapon and armour tier, then enter Hunllef with a plan for prayer switching and floor movement. The corrupted variant tightens the time and reward profile.

Sol Heredit is the final Colosseum encounter. Keep the arena pools and grapple/perfect-parry windows in view; read Sol Heredit for source-defined reward branches and chest actions.

Nex and group bosses

Nex requires a team plan: assign positioning, phase calls, target priority and recovery before entering. Do not publish a fixed stat line when the game data does not expose the encounter definition; use the live NPC examine and Drop Viewer for the exact variant.

Death and learning rules

Before every new boss: 1. Bank valuables and bring only the required setup. 2. Read the teleport and entry requirement. 3. Identify the attack that killed you rather than only increasing gear. 4. Check the live Drop Viewer and Collection Log after a clear. 5. Compare duplicate rewards with Item upgrades, Shop guide for players and Burn Points.
